Amy is the former Chief Executive Officer and President of the World Future Society, the world’s first and largest membership organization for futurists, and advocacy on behalf of future-critical issues. She was the first Department of Defense appointed Chair of Information Integration at the U.S. National War College in Washington DC.
Amy has provided keynotes and briefings to corporate, government and military leaders on five continents, on topics including the future of government and industry in a world of accelerating change; leadership and organizational transformation; how to think like a futurist to anticipate and create change; and how to use uncertainty as the key to competitive advantage.
Amy has also developed a proprietary approach to organizational transformation using a narrative framework, and has worked with diverse organizations to help them generate new narratives that model and invite new stakeholder behavior. Her book, Strategic Narrative: A Framework for Accelerating Innovation, offers practical guidance for leaders seeking to reinvent their organizations.
She has provided testimony to U.S. Congress and regularly advises senior military and intelligence leaders on issues related to the long term future environment. Her expertise has been featured in media such as Axios, Atlantic Magazine, the Guardian, The Hustle, BBC, CNBC, MSNBC, Voice of America, and many other publications.
She holds a Ph.D. in Middle Eastern Studies from New York University, and additional degrees in literature and fine arts from Cornell and Columbia Universities. She is a former Fulbright scholar in Jordan, and a former fellow at the EastWest Institute in New York, and has served on the faculties of New York University, Cornell University, and the New School University. She also holds an honorary masters degree in national security studies from the U.S. National War College.
